Module DPS2: This module is a
DMX 512 PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), LED dimmer, and
switch, generator. The DPS2 module generates 4 PWM or
switch outputs that could drive LEDs such as 16
4 Circuit LED strips
(high brightness), mechanical or solid state
relays (SSRs), effects lights, or any triggered devices such
as florescent lights and water fountain control solenoids.
The DPM4-RD PCB
is used to generate and drive the 4 outputs each can sink or source up to 500mA
at +5 or +7~15 Volts (voltage depends on the devices to
be driven), and addressable to any 4 consecutive of the 512 channels.
The start channel is assigned by dip switches
1~9,
DMX512 CHANNEL ASSIGNMENT TABLE
[PDF]. The outputs can be accessed
with the DM6 module
which will provide up to 24 output connections. Dip switch
setting changes the output mode: PWM or Switch, in
the switch mode the outputs are either on or off depending
on the DMX level with a threshold of 127~128 (125~0
turns
off, 131 ~ 255 turns on).
This module is part of the DMX
Modular System and requires a
modular
chassis or enclosure, and a
PS-IO2,
PS-IO2x power
module or a 5V / 7~15V power supply. An input/output
DM6 module or
equivalent, and a DMX source from any chassis connector
(e.g.
PS-IO2x
or DX6).
